lost wishes/empty promises
Lying down under the weeping willow,
Its tears hiding me from the warm sunlight wings,
I hear the laughing river pass through the meadow,
Mirroring the beauty of the world around it,
And as the light shines in its ripples,
I see that shine of your eyes,
A sweet glimpse of beauty and pain,
A lonely bird sings and flies in the pale blue sky,
an echo of what remains of you,
But a gentle breeze sways your ghost and washes you away,
I'll join you my dear friend wherever you are,
And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumphs,
And leave this wasting world behind
